Smart Bets In Private Craps
One or more players play against a casino in bank craps. The casino covers all player bets at a table and sets the odds on its payout. Rolling two dice players take turns. The "shooter" rolls the dice. Other players at the table will make bets on the shooter's dice rolls. The game is played in rounds. The "come-out roll" is the first roll of a new round. A shooter bets the the table minimum on either the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line. The stickman then presents the shooter with 5 dice. Two of them are picked. The come-out roll is over if the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 are rolled, and they become the Point. Rolling is continued until until either the point or a seven is rolled. If the point is rolled, the result is a win for the pass line. If the shooter rolls a seven, the pass line loses. The next player who wishes to become the new shooter gets the dice. A large number of bets for each round or each roll can be made by players. In a casino craps there are four employees. A boxman guards the chips, supervises the dealers and handles coloring out players. Bets are collected and paid by two base dealers standing to either side of the boxman. Across the table from the boxman a stickman stands. He takes bets in the center of the table, announces the results of each roll, collects the dice with a wooden stick, and directs the base dealers to pay winners from bets in the center of the table. Each employee makes sure the other is paying out winners correctly. The dealers insist that the dice must be rolled with one hand and bounced off the far wall of the table. The game is kept fair with the help of these requirements.Private craps is played outside of a casino. The difference between street and bank craps is that there is no bank in street craps. For the game to be played players' bets against each other are covered or faded. If using money instead of chips and depending on the laws of where it is being played, street craps can be an illegal form of gambling. Street craps has many variations. Street craps has more simplified betting options unlike more complex proposition bets offered by casinos. A Pass or a Don't Pass bet is made by the shooter if he wants to roll the dice. To continue the game another player must choose to cover the shooter. The shooter will always be betted against by the person covering him. As long as there is another player willing to cover the shooter other players may make bets.
