Rules Of Bank Craps
Bank craps is played by one or more players against a casino. All players' bets are covered and the odds on the payout are set by the casino. Players roll two dice in turn. The "shooter" rolls the dice. Bets are made on the shooter's dice rolls by other players at the table. The game is played in rounds. The "come-out roll" is the first roll of a new round. To begin, a player who wants to be a shooter must bet the table minimum on either the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line. The shooter is then presented with five dice by the stickman. He picks two of them. The numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 become the Point if they are rolled, and the come-out roll is over. Rolling is continued until until either the point or a seven is rolled. The result is a win for the pass line if the shooter is successful in rolling the point. If a seven is rolled the pass line loses. The next player who wishes to become the new shooter gets the dice. A large number of bets for each round or each roll can be made by players. A casino craps requires four casino employees. The chips are guarded, the dealers are supervised and the coloring out players is handled by a boxman. Bets are collected and paid by two base dealers standing to either side of the boxman. Across the table from the boxman a stickman stands. The bets are taken, the results of each roll are announced, the dice are collected and the dealers are directed to pay winners by him. Each employee makes sure winners are paid out correctly. The dealers insist that the dice must be rolled with one hand and bounced off the far wall of the table. The game is kept fair with the help of these requirements.Informal craps playing is called street or private craps. There is no bank in street craps and in bank craps there is one. For the game to be played players' bets against each other are covered or faded. Depending on the laws and usage of money instead of chips street craps can be illegal. Street craps has many variations. Unlike complex bets offered by casino craps street craps has more simplified betting options. The shooter is required to make either a Pass or a Don't Pass bet if he wants to roll the dice. To continue the game another player must choose to cover the shooter. The person covering the shooter will always bet against the shooter. Once the shooter is covered, other players may make Pass or Don't Pass bets, or any other proposition bets, as long as there is another player willing to cover.
It is not wise to play the game, especially with big bets, if you are inexperienced in the game. One has to know all the rules and the features of the game long before he sits down to the craps table. Martingale system
Craps can be beaten by no system. But there are players believing in it. One of the best known systems is the Martingale System. The player starts by betting a given amount and doubles his bet whenever he loses. He starts over at the initial amount when he wins. An amount equal to the initial amount is saved after every eventual win. But after the bet is doubled several times the player can be out of money. He can also be unable to bet the huge amount dictated by the system because the casino wouldn't allow it. The Martingale system helps to keep a profit equal to the initial bet amount every time the player wins.
Free Odds Basic Strategy
The free odds bets are bets that you can make on pass/don't pass & come/don't come bets. To reduce the casino edge the player can take full odds on their pass/don't pass & come/don't come bets.
The Iron Cross
The player is allowed to win on every roll that is not a seven with the Iron Cross. A field bet and place bets on the 5, 6 and 8 make the Iron Cross. This strategy doesn't create a mathematical advantage for the player.
Gambler's fallacy
It is the belief that the probabilities of future dice rolls are influenced by the past dice rolls. Each roll of the dice is an independent event. 1/18 is the probability of rolling an eleven on every roll.
Parity hedge system
Many craps players "hedge their bets". To minimise the risk of losing multiple bets are made.
Dice setting or dice control
This system presupposes throwing the dice in a special manner. The theory is that certain numbers are more likely to be shown. To prevent this steps are taken by casinos. The dice are required to hit the back wall of the table. It helps to make the controll of the spins more difficult.
