Dice Game Norms Of Behaviour

What are the rules of behaviour at the craps table? Besides the rules of the game itself, there are unwritten rules of craps etiquette. There is a craps etiquette that players stick to. A bet is placed while the dice are in the middle of the table.Have it clear in your mind what bets to place. Players aren't supposed to handle the dice with more than one hand. To change hands you put the dice on the table, let go, then take them with the other hand. The dice should hit the wall at the opposite end of the table When they are thrown. A short roll will be called a "no roll" because it is more controllable. If a die or both dice leave the table, it is also a "no roll". The dealers and the players aren't allowed to touch and handle the chips directly to each other. Players lay the cashdown on the layout and the dealer places chips in front of the players. The casino can ask a player to leave the table or the casino for any reason. A player may pass the dice to the next player when offered the dice to shoot. A shooter must be one of the players. He should bet on either the pass line or don't pass line to continue the game. Tip the dealers. Dealers in the US don't get paid that much. The most common way of tipping is to toss chips onto the table and say, "For the dealers" or "For the boys". A bet is also commonly put for the dealer. A two-way bet is one that is part for the player and part for the dealers. Usually, the dealers' bet is smaller than the player's bet, but it is appreciated. To change dice in the middle of a roll is considered bad luck. The shooter calls "Same Dice!" if he doesn't want a new die. Food, drinks, cigarettes, and other things should remain off the chip rail and shouldn't be held over the table. To leave the table after a successful come-out roll is bad luck. Players' hands should be removed from the table area when the shooter is ready to roll. The stickman often says: "hands high, let 'em fly" or "dice are out, hands high". Coloring up should be done only when the player is preparing to leave the table. To color up and then decide to stay for one more round is generally permissible. But to color up multiple times while at the same table is impolite.

There are several bets in Craps.
There are several line bets in the game of Craps.
Line bets can be placed on the area marked ‘Pass Line’ and ‘Don’t Pass line’ area. Here Pass Line and Don’t Pass line bets are available. In the case of a win with line bets you are paid an amount equal to your bet and the bet amount itself. If you believe that the shooter will roll 7 or 11 or a point which will be rolled again before 7 you choose Pass Line bet. If you think that the shooter will roll 2 or 3 on the comeout roll or will roll a 7 after rolling a point number and before rolling this point number again you choose a ‘don’t pass line bet’ area.
Odds on a Line Bet.
If the point number is rolled on the comeout the player is allowed to take true odds against a 7 appearing before the point number is rolled again. The additional bet can be equal to the initial bet. This bet is called an odds bet. Odds bets are different in different casinos. In some casinos the odds bet amount is the amount equal to the line bet amount or lower. Some casinos allow making odds bets of two, three or even more times the amount of the line bet. The odds bet is paid at a rate equal to the odds of that point number being made before a 7 is rolled. The area behind a pass line bet is for placing odds bets. Be aware that you will not find an area for the odds bets on the craps table. Remember that all the players are allowed to make odds bets, though the house doesn’t want to encourage odds bets. Remember that you can make an odds bet any time after a comeout point is rolled.
