Dice Appeared

Craps history, like the history of many other casino games is a debatable question. One can say that a dice and dice games are few thousand years old. However modern craps appeared much later - only hundred years ago. There exist some versions cocerning craps history and there are not many facts that are considered to be true. First, it is known that the craps game we know and play today originated from an ancient English game called Hazard. One point of view is that an Arabic dice game called "Al Zar" was the ancestor of craps which was brought to Europe by the merchants. Thanks to some evidences for dice games even in Egypt dating back to 2600 BC we can conclude that dice games were really created in the Arabic world. There is also an evidence that a form of craps can be dated back to the time of the Holy Roman Empire. Being in camp, Roman soldiers used to shave down pig knuckles into the shapes of cubes, and toss them onto their inverted shields as a form of entertainment. Therefore the expression "to roll the bones" appeared. By the 17th century there wasn't a single tavern in England where the game Hazard wasn't played as it became very famous. A lot of people, even nobility, liked this game very much and it was played in the most luxuriant casinos of England. Later the game was adopted by the French but the name of it was changed.*New name of the game was Craps which is a corruption of "Crabs". Maybe the game came to America with the French and maybe with the British. At the beginning of the 19th century craps history takes another turn as John H. Winn simplified Craps and invented the modern layout to the game. But as the decades past, and especially at the beginning of the 1990's, slots caused a decrease in the popularity of craps games, but thanks to the Internet age the game managed to pull back its honor. Everyday thousands of people play online craps.

A player can choose one of numerous bets.
There are several line bets in the game of Craps.
Line bets can be placed on the area marked ‘Pass Line’ and ‘Don’t Pass line’ area. Here Pass Line and Don’t Pass line bets are available. Line bets pay even money if they win. If you believe that the shooter will roll 7 or 11 or a point which will be rolled again before 7 you choose Pass Line bet. If you think that the shooter will roll 2 or 3 on the comeout roll or will roll a 7 after rolling a point number and before rolling this point number again you choose a ‘don’t pass line bet’ area.
Odds on a Line Bet.
If the point number is rolled on the comeout the player is allowed to take true odds against a 7 appearing before the point number is rolled again. You can bet an additional amount up to the amount of your line bet. The additional bet is called odds bet. In different casinos the odds bets are different. In some casinos the odds bet amount is the amount equal to the line bet amount or lower. Some casinos allow making odds bets of two, three or even more times the amount of the line bet. The odds bet is paid at a rate equal to the odds of that point number being made before a 7 is rolled. The area behind a pass line bet is for placing odds bets. Be aware that you will not find an area for the odds bets on the craps table. Remember that all the players are allowed to make odds bets, though the house doesn’t want to encourage odds bets. Remember that you can make an odds bet any time after a comeout point is rolled. Every player is allowed to make, to withdraw or to reinstate an odds bet anytime after the comeuot and before sevening out. All money and chips have to be taken off the table in the case of a win. You have to take your chips off the table and if you want them to work further put them back on the table behind your line bet. The Pass Line Bet is one of the most common wagers in Craps. To make a pass line bet click on the Pass Line area of the table. Pass Line bets win if the total of 7 or 11 is rolled. Pass Line bets lose if the total of 2,3 or 12 is rolled. The Pass Line Bet pays 1 to 1 odds. The Odds Bet isn’t as common as the pass line bet. At the casinos there is no special area for odds bets. The player should always remember that he has a right to make a odds bet. If you make an odds bet you believe that the shooter will roll the second point number before rolling a 7. To place an odds bet you have to click on the area behind the pass line area. Be aware that you can make an odds bet only if the shooter rolls a point number.
